The documentary became the talk of the town because she declared she had been harassed by her soccer coach when she was a student at Boston University. Let’s deep dive into this news and learn further details about these claims.

Who Is “Call Her Dady” Podcast Host Alex Cooper?

Alex is a media personality and podcast host. She began this podcast, “Call her daddy,” in collaboration with her best friend, Sofia Franklyn who is also an entrepreneur from Newtown, Pennsylvania. She is one of the popular podcast hosts who has interviewed big names like Zayn Malik and Camila Cabello.

What “Call Her Alex” Documentary all About?

“Call Her Alex” is a documentary that is divided into 2 parts, and it is about the life and career of the famous podcast “Call Her Dady” host Alex Cooper. The documentary is all about how she became such a well-known media personality and why big celebrities come to her podcast to talk. But more than that, the theme of this documentary is the sexual harassment experience of Alex before she became famous. On this channel, she has over 1.45 million subscribers on this channel.

What Are the Claims She Made In The Documentary?

Alex story begins during her time at Boston University. During that time, she played for the women’s soccer team from 2013 to 2015. The documentary mainly talks about the sexual harassment allegation. She claimed that she was harassed by former Boston University soccer coach Nancy Feldom. These claims are both personal as well as systemic. The documentary reveals how Cooper’s experience was not isolated. Given below were the claims she made in the documentary:

Inappropriate Fixation And Attention

In this documentary, Alex claimed that Feldom began to fixate on her name in the game. Not only this, she also confesses that she gave disproportionate attention compared to other teammates. The attention she got was not for her gameplay, instead for her personal life and physical appearance.

Intrusive Questions And Comments

Alex also mentioned how Feldom allegedly made repeated inquiries related to her romantic life. She also asked her about questions related to dating and sex life, and also commented about her body, including her legs and overall appearance.

According to her, Feldom would highlight Alex’s looks during team film sessions. The coach also rewound her playing footage to comment on her hair and the way she looks rather than her athletic performance.

She also mentioned, “Did You Have Sex last Night?” She replied said “I’m like, ‘I’m sorry what? She’s like, “I don’t know if you should be sleeping off campus.’ And I’m like, ‘All of the other girls on my team sleep off campus.’ I didn’t know what to do.

Unwanted Physical Contacts

Alex claims that Feldom would try to find ways through which she can touch her unwantedly without her permission. There were several occasions when she tried to touch her thigh by placing her hands on it.

Threats And Manipulation

Alex said in the documentary that she tried to manipulate her and blackmail her. Feldom leveraged her authority by implying that Cooper’s playing time and scholarship could be at risk; she denied her.

Nancy, the coach, suggested that she discuss her sex life with her and also insisted on driving her alone at night.

What are the consequences Of It On Alex Cooper?

In one of her interviews, she mentioned that this situation totally affected her, and this situation affected her playing time in the NCAA tournament. Her parents were also seen talking about this issue, whose names are Laurie and Bryan. They recall her experience on the team and their meeting with Bostan University’s administration, which was not what they expected.

What Is The Institutional Response?

With all the courage, she decided to file a complaint against the coach with Boston University’s athletic department. She mentioned that her complaints were ignored or dismissed by the authority.

Her family also showed concern, but still, no formal investigation was initiated. Despite this, officials allegedly offered to preserve her scholarship, effectively silencing her. The institution did want to fire Nancy, and no investigation was held either.

Why Cooper Came Forward Now?

Alex did address why she is talking about these now when she already has a voice on her channel. She said in defence that “It took me ten years to narrate this story, and I must admit that even now, saying the words ‘I was harassed by my college soccer coach’ makes me feel uneasy and anxious.”

Alex also said while promoting her documentary that because she was not physically harassed, that is why she feels embarrassed and has a fear of retaliation. But after listening to the story of other victims, she feels the courage to raise her voice against it.

According to one of her interviews, she mentioned that she did want to include this in her documentary. But when the documentary was filmed, she then got to know about other victims who faced the same issues as we mentioned above.
